Karen McCann McClelland has over 30 years of experience in auxiliary and summer programs. As director of Auxiliary Programs and Sidwell Summer which serves over 3200 campers annually, she coordinates the marketing, hiring, program design/implementation, and evaluation of 12 different programs. She also oversees the school’s rental programs, Early Childhood Learning Center, Enrichment and Extended Day Programs, and on-campus cafe. She presents annually at ACA Tri-State conference and helped establish the Independent School track. She has also presented at ACA National and NAIS conferences. In 2006, she founded Summer Summit, a professional development event for Washington DC area summer camp professionals.
